Tamarack Brook Music Festival offers creative, place-based concerts and educational programs to local communities across Southern Vermont. Our mission is to increase rural access to the arts, connect people in inclusive spaces, and bridge social divisions in our work toward a more compassionate world.
Come as You Are, Pay What You Can. Financial accessibility is central to our mission. Every one of our public events is free or free with an optional donation.
Local Culture. Vermont culture is hyperlocal — a wonderful rarity in an increasingly globalized world! We strive to celebrate this by bringing intimate concerts to individual towns with distinct meeting places, histories, identities, and cultures.
Community Building. Our community concerts celebrate distinct local spaces and are meant to be social gatherings as much as musical events, while our mainstage concert deals with relevant local themes.
Education. Children suffer the most from decreasing access to the arts. Our education initiatives strive not just to help children understand the language of music but also to connect them with new ways to express themselves.
Meet the Admin Team
Hi, I’m Anna-Sofia – Founder and Artistic Director of TBMF. I grew up visiting my grandparents in Clarendon, VT every summer until my family moved to Rutland County when I was thirteen. I graduated from Mill River Union High School in North Clarendon; my three younger siblings also went to Mill River, as did my mom and all of her siblings before us. Even though I don’t live here permanently anymore – I spend most of my life these days in Houston, TX, where I am finishing a doctorate in Piano at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music – I cherish every moment I am able to come back, when I rediscover an abiding network of community that has supported me and each of my family members in turn.
